Camp Day at Tim Horton’s. Help send a child to camp by buying a coffee!
Late post, these are photos from Mother’s Day. It was such a great day that I didn’t so much pick up the camera, as enjoy the warm sun, and nice weather. Two photos from that Sunday: my grandmother, and of course dessert from a family dinner.

Decadent Desserts (100 King st. west) is a small bakery located on the PATH (towards St Andrews Stn.) , and is probably the best place to discover on a rainy day. They have a vast range of baked goods, that are made fresh each day or to order.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cake flour
1 teaspoon baking soda

Sometimes the most interesting of places are ones that look like a hole in the wall. At least, this is what my first impression was when I came across Reggie’s Old Fashioned Sandwiches.
Located west of Spadina, Reggie’s can be found hidden in-between as empty store front, and a burger joint. It looks rather deceiving, with its small store front, pealing navy blue paint, and large window. However, on the inside, Reggie’s has a large floor space which extends quite a bit back. In the middle of the place, is the counter, and kitchen. Which are surrounded by small two-seater tables in the front, and two large communal tables in back.

Reggie’s is not like your standard sandwich shop. For one, all sandwiches are at least $10 + tax. And for good reason. The owners use high quality meats, quality breads and other ingredients from local sources. The chefs do not skimp on stiffing the sandwiches with vegetable, cheese, and meat either. After ordering, each sandwich takes up to ten minutes to make. Which may be the only downside.

(Hickory Smoke Chicken Wrap: marinated vegetables, goat cheese, spinach, and sun dried tomatoes.)

(Tuna Melt: cheddar cheese, celery, sweet peppers, green onion, and mayo.)

(Ham and Swiss: ham, swiss, Dijon mustard, and mayo.)
It’s worth taking the time to check out. If not to quickie step in to grab something to go, than to at least sit down with a sandwich and a coke.

(Grilled Chicken Ceasar Wrap - Grilled chicken breast with romaine lettuce and Caesar dressing, served lightly toasted in a cilantro wrap.)

(Original Egg, Bacon, and Cheddar Wrap - Egg, bacon, shredded cheddar cheese with a California pepper sauce in a Cilantro wrap.)

(Breakfast Bagel - Egg, bacon, cheddar & leaf lettuce served on a multigrain bagel)

(Belgian Waffle with Syrup - plain Belgian waffle with a side of syrup)

(Wasabi Tuna Melt - savoury Tuna topped with sliced tomato and avocado, melted swiss cheese and a hint of zesty wasabi mayo. Served with a California salad.)
Part of my college program consisted of an internship at a design place. The placement I found had the downside of being hold up in the back of a salon, and a daily travel time of 4.5 hours. Probably the only thing that got me through it (beside lots of coffee), was William’s Fresh Cafe. The calm atmosphere, and fresh food made for a positive day.
